TERMS OF SERVICE

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By accessing Maritime Answers AI ("MAAI"), you (the "User") confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you are strictly prohibited from using the service.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE & NO PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

MAAI is an AI-powered educational study aid.

  • Educational Purpose Only: The service is designed to assist in exam preparation and general maritime study.
  • No Operational Use: MAAI MUST NOT be used for real-time navigation, watchkeeping, or critical shipboard decision-making.
  • Accuracy Disclaimer: AI technology is subject to "hallucinations" and errors. MAAI is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy. Users are legally obligated to verify all information against official IMO publications, STCW guidelines, and approved nautical charts.

NO GUARANTEE OF EXAM SUCCESS

While MAAI provides high-quality assistance, MAAI Systems does not guarantee that the User will pass any specific exam, test, or certification. The final result depends solely on the User's own effort, study habits, and performance.

4.

SUBSCRIPTION MODELS & BILLING

  • Access Passes: We offer 24-hour and 7-day one-time passes, plus 1-month access available either as a one-time pass or a recurring monthly subscription. Access begins immediately upon successful payment.
  • Finality of Sale: In accordance with EU digital content laws, by activating the pass or logging into the dashboard, you waive your right to a 14-day withdrawal period. All sales are final.
  • Refunds: Refunds are only considered in the event of a verified total system failure lasting more than 24 consecutive hours. Recurring monthly access remains cancellable for future billing cycles, but already-started billing periods are non-refundable.
5.

FAIR USE & ANTI-ABUSE POLICY

  • Anti-Scraping: Automated querying, scraping, or "crawling" of the MAAI database/RAG architecture is strictly prohibited.
  • Rate Limiting: We apply strict rate limits per account. Excessive querying suggesting non-human behavior will result in automatic suspension.
  • Strict Anti-Account Sharing: Accounts are for individual use only. We monitor IP addresses and Hardware IDs. Simultaneous logins or sharing credentials will lead to immediate account termination without refund.
6.

THIRD-PARTY DEPENDENCIES

MAAI relies on third-party providers (including but not limited to Google Gemini API and Cloudflare). MAAI Systems is not liable for service interruptions, data delays, or permanent shutdowns caused by these third-party providers.

7.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS & COMPATIBILITY

Users are responsible for their own internet connection and browser compatibility. We are not responsible for the MAAI extension being blocked by 3rd-party ad-blockers, antivirus software, or restrictive corporate/shipboard firewalls.

8.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MAAI Systems (operated in Madrid, Spain) shall not be liable for:

  • Any exam failures, loss of maritime certifications, or career setbacks.
  • Any maritime accidents, property damage, environmental incidents, or injuries resulting from reliance on AI-generated content for actual navigation.
9.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain. Any legal disputes shall be settled exclusively in the courts of Madrid, Spain.
